NEW SFG VENTURE

Welcome Neighbor: As you know , we are starting a whole new venture by creating the Square Foot Neighborhood Gardens which can tie in nicely with both the SFG Clubs being started and the speakers / teachers program we conducted in UTAH this past spring. We ended up with a dozen people being trained to speak who gave over 50 talks to almost one and a half thousand people. In addition, our trained teachers gave classes to almost 200 SFG enthusiasts. Now, we would like to concentrate on getting as many people signed up as possible to have a neighborhood garden listed on our web site.

DO YOU WANT TO SHOW OTHERS YOUR SFG?

We're hoping you will be one of the first to sign up in your area so we can list your garden and that will encourage others to also sign up - the more the merrier, of course. And, as you know, people are always hesitant to be the first.

So, we would encourage you to fill out the attached form, as well as to start recruiting and encouraging others in your neighborhood to be become interested in SFG and help you form a club. Send them to our web site to get acquainted.

If they wanted to be listed on our web site with a SFG to visit, you could download and print out the questionnaire form to take to them, at the same time checking out their garden to make sure it follows all of the principles of SFG especially the visible and prominent grid. If they don't have that, please encourage and help them install a grid, so they can qualify to have a neighborhood garden.

SHARE YOUR GARDEN IDEAS WITH OTHERS

Remember, the whole idea is to be able to find a SFG friend somewhere near you to exchange ideas with. In addition, we hope by you being listed will sprout a SFG club in your neighborhood as well as allow new or beginner gardeners to find out all about SFG.

After all – what good is your experience with SFG if you can't share it with others? Moreover, just think what a better world this will be because of that.

We'll be brainstorming and working out the details of how this will work and so would love to have your input and thoughts as we do so . This is going to be a great thing and you will be helping many people to experience the joy of gardening. This program should grow rapidly and we'd like you to be a part of it. Thanks again for all your support in the past and I want you to know how much I appreciate you. We'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Best wishes , Mel B. Founder SFGF
