This non-fibrous material was previously discarded, but is now screened to give consistent particle size and organic matter content, and baled for use as an alternative to peat moss. Use this to help make Mel's Mix - replace half of the peat moss with coir - remember Mel's Mix is 1/3 Blended Compost 1/3 Coarse Vermiculite 1/3 Peat Moss by volume
Used as a soil amendment, coconut peat helps aerate soil, causing it to hold more water and nutrients. Note: People with a nut allergy should use caution when working with this product.
