Tomatoes Grow Great on Your Vertical Frames | Print |  E-mail
Q:  Dear Mel, I hope you are well - we miss you here in Utah! Hope your sabbatical is going well. Quick question for you-those tomato growing frames are great-I've really been able to grow a single plant in one square foot (with vigorous pruning!)

I'm wondering two things: Where can I buy more pre-assembled tomato frames? Where can I buy that wonderful nylon mesh netting you use? I'm going to have to create some of my own frames for 4' X 16' beds I'm installing into my new backyard. Thanks much! Chris from Provo, Utah
Preassembled kits tomato towers and netting now available !!

A:   Chris, it is so good to hear from you again. I'm going to ask you to read the "Where's Mel" on the "What's New?" page. I've finished my sabbatical and I'm back in Utah, although not down near you guys.

I've spoken at B.Y.U. twice since being back this year and I'll make sure I contact you the next time I come down to talk, so we can get together. It sounds like you've mastered the art of growing tomatoes on a vertical frame and keeping 1 plant per square foot.

To answer your questions, you can buy the tomato towers right here in our catalog and we would be happy to ship them to you. To answer question two, the same goes for that wonderful nylon netting. Check out our catalog and see what we've got!!

In the meantime, why don't you plan a visit this summer to come up and see our new gardens here and maybe even take some training? We will be offering a training course every month so we hope to see you soon. Check out the Training Notice on the home page. We will be having a training class here in Eden on June 21st. Good luck with your garden this year. Tell all you friends and relatives about Square Foot Gardening and invite them to visit our web site. Yours truly, Mel9
