Q: Hi Mel, my name is Russell and I live in England. I think your website and method are just about the most brilliant thing I've come across in years. With only a small cottage garden I can't wait to get going.
Can you grow things such as squash and runner beans using this method ? I have only just found your web site and have not had the chance to buy your book yet, but I will without a doubt. I hope I have done this correctly I'm a bit new to this modern technology. Keep up the good work!
SFG GREAT FOR SMALL SPACES
A: Dear Russ, welcome to Square Foot Gardening! Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment. SFG will certainly work well for you in your small area. I can just feel the enthusiasm you have from your letter.
VERTICAL GARDENING
And, yes, I am happy to tell you that you can grow such things as squash and runner beans and almost anything else. Vines are grown on vertical supports, so they grow up not out. You can see examples of this in the book and on the website. The book covers all kinds of vertical gardening in chapters 8 and 9.
WE SHIP BOOKS TO ENGLAND
I would suggest that you read the website thoroughly and when you order the book, you will find additional information there. We do have a catalog page on the website where you can find ordering information. We ship book orders to England by Priority mail ( takes about 5 days ) and the extra costs of shipping to England would be approximately $9 more than what is listed on the order page for shipping and handling A Visa or Master card will convert the dollars to pounds automatically so that is no problem. Yours truly, Mel B. |
