Look Where Mel's Mix is Available!
Mel's Mix is now available in the Salt Lake City area and in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. Coming soon to Orange County, California! If you would like to have Mel's Mix available in your neighborhood, call all your local Garden Centers including; Lowe's, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and your local nurseries. That's the only way that we are going to get it all over the country. We have to make a demand for it! We are working to try to get Mel's Mix available everywhere, but we need your help as fellow SFG followers!
The Mel's Mix comes in 2 cubic ft bags selling for 9.99. We've mixed this from peat moss, coarse vermiculite and the best blended compost that we could find (derived from 12 different ingredients). We think you'll like it very much. Currently, we only have these available for Local pickup due to the high cost of shipping. Come and visit us at our new warehouse 2951 South Pennsylvania Avenue, Ogden, Utah, 84401. Office number (801-782-4559). Office hours 9am to 5pm (Mountain Time), Monday - Friday. Have you heard about Certified Teaching?
Patrick and Connie Lahr, from Maple Lake, Minnesota. Two of our most active certified SFG teachers, are showing kids how to have fresh veggies grown the Square Foot Gardening way.Take a look at their school program at the "Maple Lake Elementary School" garden in Minnesota. Click here for the rest of the story.
What a great science project they are doing. How about you dear reader? What can you teach your kids and grandchildren about SFG? It's easy and fun! We have yet to find a better way to develop a bond between generations than SFG. Since no one has to pull any weeds or do any heavy work. With SFG it's all just planting, watering, and nurturing. Also everybody's favorite time harvesting!
Have you considered taking the Certified Teaching course yet? Click here for a direct link to the description and application. Certified Teacher's Kit! It's also a good way to not only support the SFG Foundation, but make some money yourself.
By the way, Congratulations to Joe Hutchins from Austin,Texas. Our most recent applicant to receive his SFG Certified Teacher diploma! Congratulations Joe!
Happy teaching! ________________________________________________________________________ |
SFG event Fairfield,
Conneticut
Amie G. Hall is inspiring SFG followers on Earth Day! Below is the letter we received from Amie telling us all about that fun day!
Hi Mel, We took in several pledges to buy an autographed book on Saturday. We got a lot of people thinking and inspired about Square Foot Gardening in our schools here in Fairfield, Connecticut. We also raised a few dollars with children rolling newspaper pots and transplanting a baby dill. We have our fence installation party this weekend at one school. We will hope to have more people take the pledge!
On Saturday at the Earth Day event, our SFG club was presented with a certificate from the town by the first selectman. The certificate proclaimed May 2009 National Gardening Month in Fairfield, CT, with special appreciation of our school students.

A Special Offer
Our deep discount offer for selling books has been very popular and many of you have been spreading the word and making a lot of money doing so. We have had difficulty with the post office losing and damaging books and have decided to use Fed-Ex for better results. We have also decided to simplify and stream line the order form for your convenience.
This is an invitation for all of you to take advantage of this offer and earn some extra money for these troubled times. Another idea would be to read my second book Cash from Square Foot Gardening where you could earn over $10,000 per year in your own backyard working just part time. Check it out I think you will like it.

WHY GO SHOPPING ANYMORE ?
Author Bill Kibbyn just wrote a wonderful book called "Deep Economy." In one part of the book he suggests that we might be better off to eat locally and supply ourselves. This book has to do with world supplies, consumption, and markets. It highlights the renewal of methods of providing ourselves with energy, food, entertainment, activities and education more locally. Now I've got an even better idea. Let me ask you the reader a simple question.
