Q: I purchased your book many years ago and loved it. I then lent it to someone who lost it. I haven't been able to garden for a couple of years but now I wish to start again. I remember that the soil mixture had ash and lime as part of the recipe. Looking at your soil mixture on your web site, these items are not included. I loved the original mixture and wanted to reproduce it. Does your current book still contain that formula and what book stores currently carry your book ?

The book is available at every major book store, call ahead to make sure they are not temporarily out of stock or order it directly from us at our toll free number: 1-877-828-1188. See our product page on our web site. The original soil mixture formula is still in the book and was in general, how to improve your existing soil. But now, we have improved the SFG system by suggesting you forget all about your existing soil and build up your new garden by filling the box frame with the Mel's Mixture. If you have a good homemade compost, you won't need any fertilizer, lime, ashes or anything else.
