One of the best gardening shows ever!

I know that Mel has revolutionized gardening AGAIN with his new square foot method, but the original still works as well as it ever did. For a trip down memory lane to a time when gardening was being practiced with wide-eyed wonder by a bunch of folks who grew up with store-bought food and who hadn't before realized how great it feels to 'do it yourself', this DVD collection is simply perfect. So, sit back and watch first-hand as a guy named Mel Bartholomew revolutionized growing produce at home through his inspired vision of "Square Foot Gardening". During the show's run on broadcast television Mel continually demonstrated the simplicity and functionality of planting in small, easily controlled areas instead of the wide rows so well suited to machinated farming. Year in and year out he demonstrated the excellent crop yields possible from just a square foot of space if proper plant spacing is maintained. While you will be getting some of the best information from the show on these DVD's, it would be nice to have the entire series made available (I know ... wishing for too much!). I would encourage you to examine his new methods as well as the original because he has most certainly made the entire process better, but these episodes are still of high quality and belong in every gardener's collection.
